Thanks Roadtrip Nation!

From their release:

Entering its fifth season on PBS, Roadtrip Nation is a documentary series featuring the summer journeys of twenty-somethings as they roadtrip across America, seeking words of wisdom from people who have defined their own paths in life. Past roadtrip participants have interviewed everyone from the CEO of Starbucks to Manny the Lobsterman in Maine.

Music has always played a key role in the films of Roadtrip Productions (RTP), and this year will be no exception. RTP is committed to supporting independent artists by exposing their music to wider audiences and showcasing it on the RTP website. They do not use major label music! Artists you may have heard of that have been featured on their show include: Caribou, Jack Johnson, Sufjan Stevens, Xavier Rudd, White Buffalo, Brett Dennen and many more.

This year, Roadtrip Nation has expanded from a 12 part documentary series on PBS to include a video hub on MSN.com, an online exclusive series (roadtripnation.com), a nation wide college campus tour (where they distributed over 3,000 soundtracks featuring their favorite musicians from the 2007 series), and more.

The documentary will air on PBS and other formats in the fall of 2008, and the DVD release will follow.

WHAT Does Cameron Ember SOUND Like?

Let's say you went to the Iceland Airwaves Festival and the Blue Lagoon and drove around looking at cute Viking horses and fluffy sheep. Then you headed home on Iceland Air and began listening to the In-Flight Music Channels 1-10. Cameron Ember would most likely be heard on Channel 5, "SMOOTH EASY LISTENING". No, Cameron Ember does not sound like Sting, Rod Stewart or the Goo Goo Dolls, who all have songs played on Channel 5. But Cameron Ember could be played comfortably next to some of the other artists on this channel: Elliott Smith (Punch and Judy), Jeff Buckley (Hallelujah), Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Into My Arms), Radiohead (Fake Plastic Trees), Jose Gonzalez (Heartbeats), etc. It would either be Channel 5 or 8, "SOUND GLACIER (New Age), which plays Sigur Ros, Bjork and Enya...probably stick with 5 because of the songwriting.

All tracks on the latest 2 Cameron Ember eps were recorded & engineered at home by Cameron Ember. No vocal effect (other than multi-tracking), non-linear editing or pitch correction was used.
